Why is Nickelback known to be a bad band?

I think at some point they just reached saturation point. They pumped out so many hits and radio friendly songs that you just couldn’t get away from them and even the masses got sick of them. Not to mention the fact that you had bands like Theory of a Deadman that sounded just like NB. I literally thought Bad Bad Girlfriend was NB. There was a time when Freebird and Stairway to Heaven would make most people throw up a little in their mouth when it came on the radio they got played so much.
It’s not really that complicated. It had nothing to do with them being signed to Roadrunner and them not being a heavy band. Collective Soul and Dream Theatre were signed to them as well. The first song by NB that got airplay was Breathe off the Curb album which I thought was a good song. The rest of the album was mediocre at best.
Chad has even said that the comment in this video is when the hate seemed to start. Jump to 2:50 in. Couple that with the fact that Chad somewhat had Fred Durst syndrome as well and just didn’t know when to shut his mouth and I think you have the recipe for their demise.
Do leftists understand why young men are becoming more right-wing?
Long story short I think Chad was a good writer and just had a knack for writing songs with good hooks that appealed to the masses. I’ve played in metal bands all my life and most of the hate I seen was from metal musicians in the beginning. My response was always, you can say what you want but, the bottom line is they’re doing it at the highest level. I never seen them as sell outs and never thought all their songs sounded the same though Chads voice was somewhat one dimensional.
